£100,000 'house' on Everest

4 Nov, 9:35 AM

A group of British bingo fanatics have set a new world record for the highest game, and raised £100,000 for charity by their mountainous efforts.

Twenty-five workers from Gala Coral climbed 17,500ft (5,334m) to Everest base camp, overcoming the constant risk of dehydration, altitude sickness, deep vein thrombosis and frostbite, to play their favourite game.

As well as the heightened sense of achievement, the group also raised £100,000 for Sue Ryder Care.
