Jennifer Lopez has laughed off an apparent slip during her American Music Awards performance, stating that it was intentional.

The singer seemed to stumble as she danced her way through her new single Louboutins.

But the 40-year-old joked that it was all part of the act.

J-Lo appeared to lose her footing half-way through the routine.

Producers allegedly edited the slip out of the airing of the show.

Asked about the incident on Ryan Seacrest's radio show, J-Lo said: "Did I? Did I? Did I trip a little bit? I don't even remember."

When the slip eventually came back to her, she joked: "Yeah I meant to do that.

"You should know me better than that. That was part of the choreography."
