Tommy Lee Jones has reportedly bowed out of The Lincoln Lawyer.

The Fugitive star had been expected to direct and co-star with Matthew McConaughey in the adaptation of the Michael Connelly novel.

Variety reports, however, that he has left the project over creative differences regarding the script.

Tommy has plenty to keep him busy in the meantime. He is currently finishing off TV movie The Sunset Limited, based on the Cormac McCarthy play, which he both directs and stars in, alongside Samuel L Jackson. He's also preparing for an adaptation of Ernest Hemingway's Islands In The Stream.

On the big screen, he recently wrapped The Company Men with Ben Affleck and Kevin Costner.
