Travolta loved being bald in film

John Travolta has revealed he liked the bald look he sported in his latest film, From Paris With Love.

The two-time Oscar nominee had to cut his hair and grow a dodgy-looking goatee-beard to play unorthodox CIA agent Charlie Wax in the movie, which also stars Jonathan Rhys-Meyers.

"[I like it] a lot, because it's a bald look and it allows me freedom to be bald," he said.

"Just like in Pulp Fiction, this unusual kind of Dutch haircut gave me a kind of Euro-trash feeling to the character, this heroine hitman."

The actor joined the film fresh off shooting the thriller The Taking Of Pelham 123, and wanted a similarly rugged look for Charlie.

He said: "I thought, 'Well, that worked but how can I be different in this movie?' So we decided to get rid of the hair and give me a goatee and dress me like a soldier of fortune."

He added: "These guys are almost stylish now for some reason. We looked at pictures of these guys with guns, scarves, leather jackets and parachute pants and they looked glamorous. It was so bizarre to see this dichotomy of glamour with the guns."

:: From Paris With Love will be released on February 26.
